Swarming termites sound and look like something out of a infestation horror movie. They leave their nest (with wings) flying in search of a new home for their colony. Just hope they don’t set up their colony in your home!
As soon as the warmer weather begins, that’s also when the swarms start to search, typically at the beginning of Spring in East Tennessee after a good rain. These swarms will set up in a new home, often without termite protection establishing that new colony and queen to mature and lead the colony. But even when the insects aren’t buzzing around, termite colonies can work actively, gnawing on the home year-round. So even if the bugs are out of sight, they shouldn’t be out of mind.
